American singer-songwriter Medium Build brings the King of Having Fun on Tour to Australia in January 2027 in celebration of his brand-new album. 

Visiting Australia twice in 2025, Medium Build played a series of headline shows across Australia and New Zealand as well as supporting Role Model on his national tour, before returning as special guest on Alex Warren’s 2025 tour later that year, which also included intimate headline dates of his own in Melbourne and Sydney. Now in 2027, Medium Build - aka Nick Carpenter – returns with a refreshed sense of self on his sixth studio album, King of Having Fun. Praised for its honest reflection on life, recovery and rebuilding, fans will experience the record live for the very first time.  

Following the breakout success of 2024's Country, Medium Build returns with King of Having Fun, his most cohesive, ambitious and joyful album to date. Created in the wake of a whirlwind rise that saw him grace major festival stages including Coachella, Outside Lands and Austin City Limits, the new record arrives after a transformative period of self-reflection and recovery. The result is a collection that channels newfound clarity, gratitude and optimism without sacrificing the raw honesty and emotional depth that have become his hallmark. 

Recorded live in the studio alongside his closest friends and collaborators, King of Having Fun marks a departure from the bedroom-built approach of Carpenter's earlier work. Infused with a fresh rock-and-roll energy, soaring hooks and an expansive sound, the album blends Medium Build's signature indie, lo-fi and country influences with some of his most immediate and anthemic songwriting to date.
